I guess unless you find yourself Earthbound on the wrong side of the rapture, things could always be worse but doesn’t the fact that this is the happiest face he could put on the Democrats’ election results speak volumes in itself?
Dude. You just got a historic ass-kicking. You lost 63 seats. Republicans just scored their biggest House majority since 1949. And you still think Obama’s got the winning formula? Are you even listening to yourself when you spout drivel like this?
Would Jay Inslee even recognize the truth if it walked up and punched him in the nose? Which is sort of what it did this week when he lied about his reason for missing a ceremony to rename a post office for local Medal of Honor recipient Bud Hawk.
Giving credit where credit is due, Inslee was responsible for passing the legislation renaming the post office, but when it came down to showing some personal gratitude and respect for Mr. Hawk’s extraordinary heroism, Inslee was M.I.A.
Inslee asserts on tape that he was in Washington, D.C.
“I don’t know if my opponent understands what it means to carry the hopes and dreams of the 650,000 people I represent to Washington, D.C., but it means standing up for them every single day and that is what I do.
Snip…
I honored Bud Hawk by passing a bill and I honored you by voting in Washington, D.C.”
Congressman Inslee was most certainly not voting on the day in question, February 26, 2010. A quick check of Congressional records shows that Inslee missed all six roll call votes taken that day.
So how does Congressman Inslee stand up for me when he’s not in the other Washington voting? Apparently by speaking at a luncheon of local business leaders. You know, the kind of people who can make big contributions to his gubernatorial campaign. The takeaway here is that Inslee’s willing to honor vets…as along as it doesn’t get in the way of some quality face time with potential donors.
It may be the case the Congressman Inslee wasn’t lying intentionally. It may be the case that this ceremony honoring Bud Hawk was so insignificant to the Congressman that he just didn’t remember what he was doing that day, but is that really any better?
When asked very directly by James Watkins if he were running for governor, Inslee spoke for nearly four minutes on a range of topics…none of which included his plans on a run for the governorship; I don’t even think he said the word “governor.”
And why is Inslee so keen on being governor anyway? I fervently hope it’s not because he sees a governorship as a requisite step on the way to a run for the White House. That’s a pretty frightening thought.
I had the opportunity to pass by the defaced campaign signs that Bryan Myrick first reported on. The first thing I noticed was that the Dennis Richter signs, which were mostly intact in Bryan’s photo, had been destroyed. Someone had also added a hand-lettered sign: “Vandals Support Democrats, do you?” (Sorry, no photo…I was driving.)
It’s also worth noting that the destruction isn’t limited to just this one location; The location in these photos is just north the King-Snohomish county line, but I’ve heard it’s happening all over King County.
How very sad and pathetic is it when the best way someone can think to support his candidates is to vandalize their opponents’ campaign signs?

Update 1:From the Richter campaign. (This is a Facebook note, so I’m not sure if everyone can see it or not.)
I know conservatives have an uneasy relationship with Dick Morris but there’s one thing I really like about him that I’m not seeing a lot of from inside the GOP. That one simple thing is…he’s not afraid to be big: to think big and believe big and talk big and act big.
He knows that by setting the bar high, you’ll achieve more than you would by “managing expectations.” Big thinkers sometimes fail to reach their goals, but where’s the harm in that? Are we so fragile that one setback leaves us crushed underfoot and unable to move forward?
Good things happen to and for big thinkers because they expect them to — so they’re always ready to take advantage when fate takes a turn in their direction. We need more big thinkers inside the RNC and the WSRP.
